     I just released a new video on the www.VisitJefferson.com YouTube Channel: "The Secret, Underground Tunnels of Jefferson, Texas." For years I've been hearing stories about a tunnel network under the city, and this video dissects the legends, lore, and truth about it all... including a photo of an actual, brick-lined tunnel that was discovered beside Haywood House!

     We had some folks over to bring in 2024, and had a great time. Towards the end of the evening, though, one of our friends pulled my wife aside. Our friend new that we'd lost our basset hound Bella last summer, but she tentatively asked my wife... "Do you ever feel like Bella's come back for a visit?" My wife explained that since her death, we've seen glimpses of dogs here and there in the house, along with the familiar click-click-click of toenails on the hardwood floors. Our friend said, "That's what I heard - there were heavy steps with little toenails clicking on the hardwood floor, walking down the hallway!"
